What Makes the Best Outdoor Furniture?

Looking into new furniture for your patio? The best type of fabrics for outdoor furniture is acrylic, olefin, or polyester, and here’s why!

Fabrics / Materials

Acrylic is mold and mildew resistant and is dyed prior to being woven, which allows it to better retain its coloring. This fabric can also withstand 1,000 hours of UV exposure! Acrylic can stay cool in hot weather, has a soft texture, and can wick away moisture. This is best for awnings, boat covers, cushions, and patio furniture.

Olefin is a synthetic fiber that is colored into the yarn, leading to it being highly resistant to staining and fading. This lightweight fabric is used for both indoor and outdoor purposes. Olefin is incredibly comfortable for seat cushions and pillows.

Polyester is a synthetic fabric that is durable and resists water damage and staining. It is also tear-resistant and quick-drying. This fabric is best for shaded areas and you should avoid using it in areas exposed to UV rays, as it will cause fading.

Colors

The most popular colors that we see are black, white, and other neutrals. There are other options available in numerous colors, but those are the most popular!
